Bad News…
OK, I read this post and it has me thoroughly pissed off… Basically neither SQL Server 2008 SP1 or SP2 are compatible with SQL Server 2008 R2. That is completely lame! I have work to get done, and I already lost an hour applying the Service Pack. Now, in order to attach my SQL Server 2008 database to my SQL Server 2008, I have to download and upgrade to R2? SupremeLameness.Overflow = true. Better be careful… .NET R2 might not support .NET boolean datatypes…except on Tuesdays, and only if you wear an “I love Barney” sticker on your forehead. Who has time for this kind of silliness???
End Rant.
Yeh, too right! I seriously am having the same freakin issue right now. NOT HAPPY! Why can’t things just work? The error I am getting is “The database cannot be opened because it is version 661. This server supports version 662 and earlier. A downgrade path is not supported.” – As far as I knew 661 WAS earlier than 662. Microsoft can’t do math now apparently.
