The Lead In
Alright, so I have been hanging out on the intertubes as https://htd.cloud for a while now. But, after talking to Taiwo, a pragmatic if not brutally honest WordPress developer (link pending), he said the domain is not easy to remember and doesn’t say anything about me. I guess, even amid the sea of people saying I should consider my personal branding, I had still somehow managed to NOT consider my personal branding.
What Goes into a Brand
That’s a big question, but let’s scope down to the personal level. Still pretty big, so lets scope it down to a moniker. My monikers have been grimreaper, therage3k, t3k, htd.cloud, gicta. What do those things say about me? Do they inspire me toward who I want to become? Do they mean anything when other people see them? Do they mean something that will help me point my life in the direction I want to go? See. . . people pick avatars, emails, account names, domain names, etc, all the time. If it is a name I am going to be known as, or a name that will be associated with me professionally, it should resonate with me and my values.
Welcome to MindFuel
I had a number of ideas for this personal rebrand, and I’ve selected MindFuel Blog. I’ve ported over all my previous posts, and I am setting up a broader swath of social media to amp up my content. MindFuel says exactly what I want my content to be about – I want to provide content that feeds our brains, I want mostly positive energy, forward-looking, introspective and authentic stuff across a broad spectrum of topics.
I know, going broad in topics can make for a less impactful brand. But everything is connected – I think through the lens of this website and its other social media tendrils (haha), we’ll be able to discuss all sorts of stuff.
If you like what you are reading, consider sponsoring me through my MindFuel Patreon. No, I have no idea why you would, but we all start somewhere. I will find a way to make it enticing.
There’s still a chunk of work to be done on styling this new website, but wanted to get a new post out here anyway.
Thanks for reading!
